The GSV Sleeper Service created six types of customized, non-standard Offensive Units that it denominated Type One through Six Offensive Unit.
Background[]
These Offensive Units were custom-designed and built by the GSV Sleeper Service in the decades prior to the encounter with the Excession near Esperi.[1]
Unlike a standard Culture Unit, these customized Offensive Units could not support a Mind; all of them were AI-cored and semi-slaved to the GSV Sleeper Service. As a result, the fleet of warcraft manufactured by the GSV Sleeper Service were only capable of being used as a single unit directly managed by the GSV Sleeper Service rather than a distributed war machine.[1]
Aside from the modifications to slave them to the GSV Sleeper Service, the ship designs themselves were all cutting edge. They were often based on prototypes, self-customized from the standard Culture design, or based on upgraded designs elsewhere.
