The GSV Sanctioned Parts List was a Culture General Systems Vehicle.
Characteristics[]
The outer limits of the GSV Sanctioned Parts List, like all other Culture Systems Vehicles, was surrounded by dozens of layers of fields.[1] Its outer fields conceal the interior of the ship and its surrounding environment. This made its appearance from a distance appear to be a silver dot, with its outside appearing to be an unassuming silvery surface.[1]
Its actual body was a golden, tawny color with ribbed and buttressed outriggers chevroned in red and blue. The top surface of the ship was parkland with hills, rivers, and lakes. The sides of the ship had many foliage-covered platforms, balconies, and openings, going on for 3 kilometres. It created its own artificial sunlight by creating a "sun-line," which changed colors to simulate a day-night cycle.[1]
Like virtually all other Systems Vehicles, it is accompanied by a fleet, including dedicated escort craft, likely GCUs or OUs. It held thousands of other spacecraft inside of its fields. Two other Systems Vehicles were part of its fleet, each one about 12.5 kilometres long and with their own fleet of craft surrounding it.[1][2]
In addition to pan-human and drone inhabitants, it also hosted foreign visitors.[1]
History[]
When Tibilo Quilan visited Masaq' Orbital, the GSV Sanctioned Parts List was part of the relay of ships that conveyed him to the Orbital. It accepted Quilan from the Superlifter Vulgarian and hosted him for several days, where he was invited to many parties, some of which he accepted. Quilan left the GSV at night, when he was transferred to the VFP Resistance Is Character-Forming to continue his journey.[1]

- ↑ Quilan states that the other Systems Vehicles were about an eighth the size of the Sanctioned Parts List and considered all three ships huge. Halving each of the dimensions of the Sanctioned Parts List in half would yield a ship about one-eighth the volume.
