Jase was a Culture drone. It was at least 1000 years old by the Idiran-Culture War, having been built before the use of aura fields. The drone declined to be retrofitted with aura fields and instead preferred to express itself with its deep, full-toned voice.[1]
During the war, Jase was the friend of Referer Fal 'Ngeestra and acted as an interface between her and Minds.[1]
After the war the drone was transcorporated into a group-mind.[2]
